Essex County Commissioners Re-elect Brendan Gill Vice President for 2017

Unanimous Re-Elections Take Place During the Board’s January 4th Reorganization Meeting

 

Montclair, NJ –  Commissioner Brendan W. Gill was re-elected Vice President of the Essex County Board of County Commissioners during the Board’s Annual Reorganization Meeting held on Wednesday, January 4, 2017, at the Hall of Records.

 

"I am honored to be sworn in tonight as the Vice President of the Essex County Board of County Commissioners,” said Gill.  “It is an honor and privilege to serve the residents and my neighbors each and every day. I remain committed to bringing good government forward while ensuring that everything the Board presents will benefit the residents of the entire County, including the County’s youth, seniors, and many other citizens.”

 

Commission Vice President Gill was elected to his first term as District 5 Freeholder in November 2011, and Commissioner At-Large in 2014. Commissioner Gill served as State Director for U. S. Senator Frank Lautenberg from 2007 until his passing in 2013. Previously, he was District Director for U.S. Congressmen Bill Pascrell and Steve Rothman, Chief of Staff to Assemblyman Peter Eagler, and Communications Director for the NJ Department of Transportation. Commissioner Gill chairs the Democratic Party of Montclair where he previously served on the Planning Board, and currently operates his own public affairs and political consulting firm. Vice President Gill is also an active member of the Irish-American community and a member of the Ancient Order of Hibernians.
